Welcome to the Ignis Program Season for 2024 for Jesuit and Companion Schools staff, and staff, volunteers and leaders across the ministries of the Society of Jesus in Australia and New Zealand, administered by Jesuit and Ignatian Spirituality Australia (JISA).
There are three national, sequential Ignis Programs offered in the Province, connecting our people across schools, ministries and organisations, and offering a hospitable, holistic, big picture understanding of the Jesuit and Ignatian way of working and mission.

Ignis begins
For new people as you begin your role – in the first year. A self-paced online program. Participants taste the Ignatian way in the context of our Province and the global Society of Jesus.
Provides an online introduction to our people and the way we work, with an initial ‘taste’ of Ignatian spirituality and a warm welcome to the Province. It comprises five modules (of 20 mins or so), is self-paced or can be delivered in a group setting. It provides a rich experience of reflection, with interesting optional resources, including videos and articles. All staff and volunteers are invited to complete Ignis begins online.
Ignis inside
For those in years 1-2 of their role. Participants are invited to a deeper encounter, learning and sharing with counterparts from other Colleges and diverse Province ministries.
Seeks to balance spiritual, reflective experiences with the story of Ignatius, his dreams and choices, worldview, and life journey in companionship. Engaging the heart and mind, it allows participants to spend time with Ignatian spirituality. This program is delivered by trained facilitators. Both online and in person dates are available. All staff and volunteers are invited to complete Ignis inside.
Ignis grows
For years 3+ of engagement and as desired. A more personal experience for those looking to retreat and grow their spiritual life through an experience of the Spiritual Exercises.
Provides an experience of the intention, rhythm and central focus of the Spiritual Exercises. Participants bring their life experience to the guided exercises, engage with scripture, story and Ignatian conversation. This program is an in-person experience only and is offered in each location around Australia.
