Checking In
• All visitors must check in at the Welcome Centre unless advised otherwise by staff.
Campfires
• Campfires are only permitted in designated fire drums or fire pits.
• Campfires are not permitted during the designated Fire Danger Period, on Total Fire Ban days or during periods of Extreme Fire Danger.
• The Lodge fireplace may be utilised during the Fire Danger Period, as long as it is not wind speeds greater than 10km/h, a Total Fire Ban day, or an Extreme Fire Danger day.
Smoking
• Smoking is only allowed in designated smoking areas.
Pets
• Visitors are not permitted to bring pets on site unless approved by the Centre Manager, with the exception of registered assistance animals.
Rubbish
• Please take all rubbish home with you. Let’s keep Gilwell Park clean and beautiful for everyone.
Wildlife
• Gilwell is home to native wildlife. Please do not feed or approach animals – admire them from a distance.
Food & Drinks
• No nuts are allowed on the site.
• Responsible alcohol consumption by adults is permitted, provided it complies with your relevant organisational and department of education policies.
• Please dispose of empty containers appropriately and avoid excessive noise or disturbance.
Noise & Music
• Outdoor noise and music must be kept to a minimum before 10am and after 8pm.
• Indoor noise should be kept low before 10am and after 10pm.
• Be mindful of fellow campers, neighbours, and local wildlife at all times.
Footwear
• Appropriate closed-toe footwear is required throughout the site.
• Muddy shoes should be left outside accommodation buildings.
Water & Electricity
• Please use water and electricity responsibly. We care for the environment and encourage you to do the same.
Vehicles & Parking
• All vehicles must follow posted speed limits and directional signage.
• Vehicles must be parked in designated areas only – no parking at campsites.
Road Safety
• Gilwell Park is divided by a main road. Please cross only at the marked pedestrian crossing.
• All children and youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult when crossing the road.
Emergencies
• In an emergency, call 000 immediately and move to a safe location.
• Then contact the Duty Officer on 03 5968 1284.
